Reports: Atletico Madrid in negations with Chelsea over Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku could move to Atletico Madrid on loan after Chelsea sign striker Diego Costa, report The Mirror. The Mirror report that the Champions League giants are in talks with Chelsea over the striker signed from Anderlecht for £20million.

Chelsea are set to sign Costa, who impressed this season as Atletico reached the Champions League final and won La Liga. Atletico are keen to replace him with the Belgian international, with club President Miguel Angel Gil Marin in negotiations to sign him on a season-long loan.

Atletico are keen to include a deal to swap the player on loan for the season as part of Costa’s £32 million transfer. Chelsea have asked for £35 million for Lukaku, but Atletico are not willing to pay that sort of money for the Chelsea striker, who they see as a ready made replacement for Costa.

Lukaku has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho, who shipped the Belgian to Everton shortly after returning to Chelsea.

Chelsea are also close to confirming a move for Atletico full-back Felipe Luis and are hoping that loaning Lukaku will help seal the deal.
