Barcelona's 4-1 loss a harsh result, says Sergio Busquets

Buquets believes Barcelona had a better first half than Celta Vigo

FC Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets believes that his side’s unexpected 4-1 loss against Celta Vigo on Wednesday night was not a deserving result, reports Goal.

The defending La Liga champions, who were undefeated in their first four games, were handed a thrashing by the hosts at home courtesy of a brace from Iago Aaspas with former Barca player Nolito and substitute John Guidetti getting on the scoresheet while Neymar netted a consolation goal as Enrique suffered his worst defeat since taking over as manager at the Camp Nou.

But Busquets feels that the result was harsh on his team as they had a better first half than their opponents which wasn’t reflected by the scoreline.

"After a result like that, the team feels bad," Busquets said. "Even though we do think that we lost by a much bigger margin than we deserved to.

"We were better than them in the first half. We were more intense. But they scored goals at key moments."

The defeat was significant in terms of the league table as the Catalan giants lost their top spot to Real Madrid and Celta who are placed first and second respectively in the current La Liga standings. They have now slipped into fifth place and have garnered 12 points from five matches.

Busquets determined for Barca to get back to winning ways

And with newly promoted side Las Palmas visiting the Camp Nou this weekend, the 26-year-old is determined to put their miserable outing at Vigo behind and return to their winning ways.

"We have to turn the page, learn from our mistakes and prepare for the next match. We have to be more careful with counter-attacks and get things right up front," added the Spaniard.

"The ideal tonic now would be to win on Saturday against Las Palmas at the Camp Nou.

"There is a long season ahead and we had won every game up until now. We'll get back to winning ways on Saturday."

Celta have kicked off their new campaign in brilliant fashion as they have won four and drawn one out of their five fixtures. Eduardo Berizzo’s men have been in scintillating form and after recording one of their best victories over last season’s treble winners, it will be interesting to see if they can sustain their momentum and cause more upsets to withhold their place among the big guns of the Spanish league.
