Cesc Fabregas hits back at claims he isn't happy; says he's having a great time

Cesc Fabregas has said that he is in a great place, both personally and professionally

If you were to believe the media and press reports lately, you would think that Cesc Fabregas is not playing well, his form has dipped and he doesn't look like he is enjoying his football as he was for the most part of this season.

Again, believing the press reports that appeared in recent days after he was an unused substitute for Spain in their match against the Ukraine, you would think that he was dropped as a result of all of the above.

When the opportunity came to be interviewed by Marca, Fabregas took the opportunity to set the record straight. He said, “I am going through a great moment, both personally and athletic. I have no reason not to be happy. I enjoy everything that happens to me.I am practically playing every minute for my team and that's what makes me happy.”

“To be important is fundamental. Now we have to fight hard for the Premier League to end a great year. I do not think I've lost my place in the team because I've never been undisputed, the important thing is the team and if the coach does not put you, it is because they are better.”

I wrote a post the other day on here in answer to a ridiculous opinion given by ex-Chelsea Striker Tony Cascarino. He stated that he believed Fabregas lacked the confidence he had at Barcelona a year ago. It's stupid statements such as these that the press would have you believe that all isn't well with Fabregas at Chelsea.

Arguably, up there with the best of them for Player of the Year for Chelsea and in the Premier League as a whole, it's good to hear the total opposite from Fabregas to put an end to all these questions about him and his performances.

With this break we have had for the Internationals, I believe that Chelsea including Fabregas will come back stronger for the title run-in. It all starts on Saturday against Stoke. Let's hope Fabregas can reach the high standards he had set himself earlier in the season to take a major step forward to the Premier League title.
