Cesc Fabregas: Heading for Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea are set to hand Cesc Fabregas an enormous £200,000-per-week contract to persuade him to join the west London club, according to the Metro.

The Spaniard, 27, has apparently been told by Barcelona that he will be sold and the Premier League is his likely – and preferred – destination. With the new that Frank Lampard is leaving Chelsea, it is believed that the Blues will replace him with former Arsenal captain Fabregas.

Fabregas signed for Arsenal as a young teenager and played his way into their first-team at 16-years-of-age, eventually leaving for Barcelona in his mid-20s in 2011.

After three years in his homeland, Fabregas is set to return to the Premier League and Chelsea are most likely to sign the Spanish midfielder.

It is thought that they will offer him a huge contract of £200,000-per-week in order to persuade him to drop his Arsenal allegiances and sign for Jose Mourinho’s side, who are also set to complete the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

Fabregas will cost around £30 million, adding to the £32m that Costa will demand.

Chelsea are not the only club interested in Fabregas, though, with interest shown from Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.
