Arsenal fans have not been happy with Arsene Wenger in the past few weeks and Joachim Loew has emerged as the surprise candidate who might replace Wenger.

Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp both Arsenal legends have been linked to the managerial position but bookmakers are reporting a large volume of bets on Germany manager Joachim Loew.

William Hill revealed to Metro.co.uk that 80% of bets placed on Arsenal’s next manager in the last week have been on the Germany boss to take over.

“The market had been relatively quiet however Joachim Loew has been quite well backed over the weekend,” said spokesman Joe Crilly.

“With a big tournament this summer, Germany may have a change in personnel and Low would be a high profile name to replace Wenger.”

Loew was strongly linked with the Real Madrid job before Reafael benitez took over in the summer.

Wenger bored of constant need to defend Arsenal record

Manager Arsene Wenger has hit out at his critics, saying he is bored of having to constantly face questions about his ability to win titles with Arsenal.

A three-game winless run in the Premier League has dented the Gunners' hopes of ending a 12-year wait for the title, leaving them third in the table, eight points behind leaders Leicester City with nine games remaining.

"Look, I have worked here for 19, 20 years and I'm always sitting here having to justify that I'm good enough to do the job," said Wenger..

"What I find just boring is always sitting here after 19 years to face (the question), 'Do you think you are good enough?'. If I am not, somebody will tell me."

Arsenal won their FA Cup replay against Hull 0-4 and Arsenal are bidding to become only the third club in history and the first since Blackburn Rovers in the 1880s to lift the FA Cup three years in a row.

Wenger hit back at suggestions that fans were not pleased with efforts on the pitch.

"I cannot influence the behaviour of the fans," he said.

"How can I do that? I don't know. I am humble enough every day to question myself, to accept my mistakes and, believe me, I do that.

"I try to do my job in a proper way and with full commitment. After that, everybody has the right to have an opinion."
