Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portuguese knee surgeon has hailed the Real Madrid star’s quest to improve on all aspects, besides prioritizing the dimension of physicality. Ronaldo’s doctor since his days at Manchester United, Jose Carlos Noronha, has highlighted the player’s curiosity of seeking the required knowledge and constantly attempting to marvelously reproduce it in his real physique.

Noronha is a renowned surgeon whose patients also include other football stars such as Angel Di Maria and Pepe. He has been monitoring the Real Madrid star’s progress following his knee surgery in Miami. Ronaldo suffered a torn collateral ligament during Portugal’s Euro 2016 final against France, in a clash with Dmitri Payet.

However, Noronha showed confidence in Ronaldo returning from his career’s only major injury as strong as ever. Noronha said in an interview with Tribuna Expresso, "He has a unique physique. It's like those cars that last millions of kilometres without any fault. I have known Ronaldo for 11 years since he was in Manchester. He had some minor injuries and asked for advice.”

He revealed the making of Cristiano Ronaldo’s legend and divulged his tenacity to fulfill all that is required in having a great character, physically and psychologically. Ronaldo takes an interest in nutrition and learning besides rigidly keeping up with the basics. Noronha added that this has proved vital in him rarely succumbing to injuries while also allowing him to recover relatively early than most of other footballers.

"In addition to having a great character, he is an athlete who fulfils all that is required to maintain a physical and psychological form to the fullest, from food to sleep and fitness.

"He is a scholar and occasionally he asks me if there are new scientific articles that you can read on food and other topics," he said.

According to Noronha, Ronaldo makes sure that his efforts pay dividends to not only his own self but also to lift his younger team-mates. "He is an example - exceptional. It is remarkable the support he gives to the younger players in the team, to integrate them and take away any fear or shame to be there next to a monster."

Cristiano Ronaldo has started training with his Real Madrid team-mates and is soon expected to join Zinedine Zidane’s men as they launch their title bid and attempt to defend their Champions League crown.
