Cristiano Ronaldo's earning released online; bagged mammoth €227.3 million last year

Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have made it through the storm

Cristiano Ronaldo's management company, Gestifute, have released the Portuguese star's earning for the last financial year online and claim the Spanish tax authorities have all the information needed. This is in response to Ronaldo being accused by various parties of evading tax totalling to €150 million.

The documents released online show that the Portuguese captain made a total of €227.3 million in the last financial year of which he earned €23.5 million in Spain while the rest was made outside of Spain – and hence beyond the jurisdiction of the Spanish tax authorities.

Run by super agent Jorge Mendes, Gestifute released Ronaldo’s ‘Model 720’ form online and claim that the same form was made available for Spanish authorities when needed. However, we’re still unclear about how much tax the Portuguese man has paid given the same wasn’t disclosed to the public but the management company insist Ronaldo was willing to cooperate in everything that was asked of him during the investigation.

"This document confirms that Spain's Tax Agency is knowledgeable of all of Cristiano Ronaldo's assets and income. From now on, the player will not make any further statement on this subject," the statement said.

"As reported in recent days, the player has been aware of his tax obligations right away from the beginning of his professional career in all of the countries in which he has resided, and has not and has never had any issue with the tax authorities of any of those countries.

"This communication, which was not required by law, constitutes irrefutable proof that Cristiano Ronaldo and his representatives are in good faith and cooperate with the authorities in a spirit of transparency and compliance with legality."

Even before the release of the statement, Ronaldo was reluctant to speak about the issue but shortly after Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu defended his actions to a Portuguese TVStation. "You believe I am worried? He who owes nothing fears nothing,” he said.

Real Madrid, Ronaldo’s team, came to his defence when the allegations were first made public defending him by insisting he had paid all his taxes.

The statement read: "In view of the stories published over recent days and in consideration of the certificate issued by the Spanish Tax Agency which confirms that our player Cristiano Ronaldo is up to date with all of his tax obligations, Real Madrid C.F. call for the utmost respect to be shown towards Cristiano Ronaldo, whose conduct has been absolutely exemplary throughout all of his time at our club."
