Diego Costa made a profit of £2 during the League Cup final

Chelsea striker Diego Costa pondering what to do with his new found wealth

Chelsea’s top scorer Diego Costa left Wembley after the Capital One Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur with some precious souvenirs. The Spaniard returned home with a League Cup winners medal, an assist and a £2 coin hurled at him from a Tottenham fan.

The striker reacted to the event in a classy manner, he calmly picked up the coin from the pitch and placed it in his shorts which he said would be of use for some post-match expenses.

The coin was thrown on the pitch during Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Tottenham by an enraged Spurs fan after Costa’s tussle with several Tottenham players like Kyle Walker and Eric Dier.

The 26-year old made his contribution to Chelsea’s win when he struck a shot which led to the second goal. The Spaniard fired a shot past Kyle Walker into the back of the net, but upon scrutiny it was it was given as an own goal to Kyle Walker as if the ball had followed its initial trajectory, it wouldn’t have hit the target.
