Apart with the on-field rivalry between the two superpowers of modern football, Real Madrid and Barcelona, many instances have emerged over the years where the players of these two teams tried to make fun of the other on social media.

Gerard Pique has done it many times over the years as he loves to mock Real Madrid on social media and also made fun of them on Barcelona's victory parades. Last night, Pique was at it again in a Twitter Q&A session.

The Champions League draw is to take place today and a fan asked Pique if he had any preferences for the draw and this was how Pique responded, "I'd prefer an easy group, with the third placed side from Italy in the last 16, the eighth placed team from Germany in the quarterfinals, the team that finished fourth from England in the semifinals, and the return legs all at home," Pique said.

The reply was directly aimed at Real Madrid – who faced these teams on the road to the final of last year’s Champions League. Los Blancos started their European campaign in a group comprising of PSG, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Malmo.

They faced AS Roma, Wolfsburg and Man City in the knockout stages before beating Atletico Madrid in the final, which they won dramatically on penalties. Pique’s derisive tone suggests that he thinks that Madrid had it easy last season.

Barcelona were beaten by Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals as Real went on to win their record eleventh Champions League title. Pique has been riling up Madrid supporters and players for many seasons and was also embroiled in a Twitter argument with former Madrid player, Alvaro Arbeloa.

Champions League draw

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both in Pot 1 of the draw, which will take place today, as Real are the holders of the trophy and Barca being the Spanish Champions. Atletico and Sevilla are in Pot 2, as four teams from Spain will battle it out for European supremacy.

Leicester City will continue their fairytale campaign and are also in Pot 1, after being crowned as the English champions. Leicester will play in the Champions League for the first time ever in the history of the club.

Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City are the three other English clubs in this year’s draw.

The 2016/17 group stage Champions League draw will be held in Monaco at 9:30 PM (IST), 25 August, 2016.
