Chelsea beat Fenerbache 2-0 before losing 1-0 to Besiktas in two different 45-minute matches at a charity tournament in Turkey to aid the families of the victims of the Soma mining disaster.

Against Fenerbache, Chelsea struck first through Diego Costa who scored a brilliant individual goal. The ex-Atletico striker received the ball in the Turkish side’s half, then quickly turned and advanced through the crowd of defenders, slaloming his way past a total of effectively five defenders before scoring past the goalkeeper into the bottom corner.

Branislav Ivanovic then scored the second off a rebound after Andre Schurrle’s free kick was saved by Volkan Demirel.

The Blues lost the second game after Ersan Gulum scored in the final minutes of the game to ensure Besiktas won the game and the pre-season tournament.
