How Jose Mourinho was almost fooled by Marouane Fellaini's twin brother

Marouane Fellaini’s twin had Jose Mourinho fooled before the Manchester United game

Jose Mourinho revealed after Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United that he was worried by the fact that Marouane Fellaini might not play after the Blues had prepared for his inclusion in United’s team the whole week.

The confusion in Mourinho’s mind was created by Fellaini’s brother, Mansour, who turned up at Chelsea’s team hotel to meet Eden Hazard, about eight hours before kick-off. The doorman at the hotel informed the Chelsea manager about the Belgian possibly not playing, as he was dressed in jeans, posed for photos, before collecting tickets left for him by Hazard.

Doorman got confused between Fellaini and his twin brother

The Portuguese tactician had worked specifically on plans to counter Fellaini’s physical presence and aerial prowess, training Kurt Zouma to be able to handle it during the match, with the Blues’ Ruben Loftus-Cheek mimicking the role of the big Belgian.

As soon as the doorman spoke to him, Mourinho resorted to using google to find out if Marouane Fellaini had a brother and if he looked like him. Once he did that, he was a little relieved about the whole situation.

Talking about what the doorman said to him, he said, “Fellaini doesn't play because he was here to get tickets for the game from Eden Hazard. He was dressed in jeans, this and that. (It) didn't smell well for me. I go to Google and I put 'Fellaini brother'. Images. The guy is the same.”

“So I go with the pictures to the doorman. I say, ‘This one or this one?’ He looks, ‘This one’.”

“F*** off, he’s the brother”
