I-League: Churchill Brothers SC face Pune FC in crucial encounter!

Defending champions Churchill Brothers SC will look to carry their AFC Cup form into the I-League when they take on Pune FC in a crucial I-League match at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco on Sunday evening. The kick-off is scheduled for 5pm.

The Red Machines are raring to go with Technical Director Subhas Bhowmick and Head Coach Mariano Dias have a full strength squad to choose from.

Subhas Bhowmick said, “The team has been doing well after our Federation Cup triumph. The only blip has been the loss to Bengaluru FC. The players are fit, in high spirits and I hope they can deliver the goods tomorrow.”

Pune FC has been in a very good form this season and Bhowmick is well aware of that, “Pune FC is a good team, however I do believe our team has strengthened specially with the new foreign signings since our I-League match at the Balewadi Stadium in late-October last year.”

“It will be a tough match, the boys have to be focussed and I am optimistic that we will get a good result,” Subhas Bhowmick added.

Currently Pune FC are third on 30 points from 18 matches, while Churchill Brothers SC as champions are bottom of the I-League with only 15 points from 17 games.
