The self-titled Special One and the new manager of Manchester United, Jose Mourinho, has already achieved something that even Sir Alex Ferguson couldn’t in his illustrious career. The Portuguese has become the first manager in Manchester United’s 138-year history to win his opening four matches.

The club’s most coveted manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, had a relatively difficult start to his managerial career. Fergie only won only one of his first six matches in charge. It was probably worse than that of David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal, but one can argue that the times were also contrastingly much difficult. Despite the turmoil that Jose Mourinho has to face, it seems he has turned things around in a flash and it only remains to be seen if this can last.

Nonetheless, the Red Devils fans now sense a restoration of fear and hatred at Manchester United after their flying start to the campaign which has seen them win all four games. Manchester United opened their season with a Community Shield win against Leicester City, followed by a hat-trick of Premier League wins against Bournemouth, Southampton, and Hull City. But it seems the revival process undertaken by Mourinho to continue Sir Alex Ferguson’s legacy might not stop at it, as his project appears to be heading towards a far more positive outcome.

On his arrival, Jose Mourinho introspected and divulged on what he thought would fix the team, which was the need for four signings. Not only did he break the world transfer record and made a statement about his intentions, but he also addressed the weak links that were missing since three years of Ferguson’s departure.

With or without the fresh signings of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba; Mourinho has revitalised the natural flow towards the goal within the team which was heavily criticised during his predecessor Louis Van Gaal’s term. Although it cannot be questioned that Mourinho’s mathematically worked out recruits are also adding to the team’s efforts of hitting their peak again.
