Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp turned football pundit for a day when he appeared on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show alongside Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher. He spoke about various topics in the show including the player he admires the most in the Premier League.

Silva is skilled and has wonderful attitude, says Klopp

The German spoke highly about the Spanish midfielder in his appearance at the show.

The German manager went on to talk about the Spaniard’s qualities, “I like David Silva – he is a wonderful player, he’s everywhere, he’s so skilled and he has a wonderful attitude”.

He also added that while other players such as Sterling and Aguero have been instrumental in scoring the goals, it is the Spaniard’s work rate and the ability to thread a pass that makes him one of the outstanding players in the league.

Klopp urges Liverpool players to use the atmosphere to their benefit

After complimenting the player, he spoke about his current club. A revamped stand at Anfield has increased spectator intake by around 22,000 and the German has urged his players to make use of the added decibel levels to put in performances which are worthy of such an atmosphere.

At the weekend, Liverpool was in authoritative form as they routed Hull City 5-1, with a clutch of players getting on the goal sheet.

The German was of the view that any opposing player is dangerous if they are given the opportunity to be dangerous, and said that he preferred to work with his players and ensure that they are in the right frame of mind to deliver on a consistent basis.

Silva is instrumental in Guardiola’s new-look side

Similarly, Guardiola has molded the Manchester City into an attacking side which also looks to put in a good defensive shift every time. Silva, has been instrumental in his role as the left-sided central midfielder alongside Gundogan or Fernandinho.

The rapport with De Bruyne has also been a key feature of this blooming partnership.

Silva arrived at the club in 2010 and has since made over 190 appearances, scoring a total of 35 goals. He continues to be an integral member under Guardiola and is one of the senior most players in the squad.

Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League after six games and on 13 points and are currently 5 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Liverpool’s Kop can’t be compared to the Yellow wall

Jurgen Klopp was asked on Monday Night Football whether he preferred Borussia Dortmund’s ‘The Yellow Wall’ or Liverpool’s ‘Kop’, a question he found difficult to answer. This is what he said, “It's different, there's nothing compared to the Yellow Wall though.”

“The Kop created the best half an hour I had in football [against Borussia Dortmund last season]. This half an hour was the best I ever had. It was outstanding. I don't want to compare. I am a really lucky guy that I have been at two wonderful clubs before and now work here.”

Liverpool have had a bright start to this season and have been tipped as the second most likely to lift the title by bookmakers. Can they keep this momentum going?
