Juventus have signed highly-lauded Spanish forward Alvaro Morata on a five-year deal for a sum of 20million euros (£15.8million) from European champions Real Madrid.

The Turin club officially announced the arrival of the young Spaniard on their website, stating: "Juventus Football Club can announce that Alvaro Morata has signed a five-year contract with the club after a fee of 20million euros, to be paid over three years, was agreed with Real Madrid.”

Real Madrid however, will have the right to buy back the forward from the Serie A champions after the end of the 2015-16 or 2016-17 campaigns, at a value that has been pre-determined in the contract, up to a maximum of 30million euros.

The value will be determined on the number of appearances the Spaniard makes for The Old Lady.

Morata truly came to the fore last season, which saw the Madrid youth product score eight goals in 23 La Liga games. This led many to believe that he would go on to force his way into the starting eleven and into Carlo Ancelotti’s long term plans.

This move, however, should afford the youngster a lot more playing time, surrounded by an equally talented group of individuals at Juventus.

The signing is the first one conducted under Massimiliano Allegri, who took over from Antonio Conte as the manager of the Turin side earlier this week.

Speaking to Juventus’ official Twitter account, Morata said: "Juve are one of the best clubs in the world, and the best in Italy. I am keen to contribute to the pursuit of further success.

"I've spoken to Allegri and I have a strong desire to get to work.

"I've wanted to play for Juve for a long time and the club has always shown a strong interest in me.

"I feel ready. I know it will be hard, but I'm ready to tackle Serie A head on."
