Suarez’s ban expires before El Clasico

As soon as news become public, the only dates everyone was interested in were of the El Clasico. The first installment of the rivalry is scheduled to take place on 26th October, 2014 at the Santiago Bernabeu while the return leg is on the the 22nd of March in Barcelona.

Interestingly, Luiz Suarez, Barcelona’s marquee signing of the summer transfer window, will be eligible to play against Real Madrid in Madrid, as his 4 month ban issued by FIFA expires a day before the game. However, considering that he is not allowed to train with his teammates till the ban is completed, it is unlikely that he will take part in the fixture.

The Uruguayan was banned for 4 months for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during the match between Italy and Uruguay at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
