The hotly contested match ended in a 1-1 draw

Barcelona's star striker Luis Suarez has blasted Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis for posting a bloodied picture of the Brazilian's foot on Instagram. The incident has taken place after the Barcelona versus Atletico Madrid League match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The left-back injured his foot after colliding with Suarez during the 84th minute of the game and the former Liverpool man was booked for the late tackle. The Brazilian went on to complete the whole 90 minutes but later took to social media to show his followers the effect of the collision with the Uruguayan striker.

The post showed a bloodied picture of the Atletico Madrid player's foot which also had a stud mark on it. The image was accompanied by a cheeky caption by Filipe Luis, which read: "At least he didn't touch me".

Suarez was then questioned about the social media post by reporters and the Uruguayan did not keep himself quiet. The former Ajax man was in no way ready to apologize to the former Chelsea man for his tackle. Instead, the 29-year-old blasted the Brazilian defender saying that football is for men.

The striker then talked against Luis for moaning and said that what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch. Suarez then went on to say that it will turn into a circus if every player moans on Social media like this.

"Football is for men and what happened on the pitch stays on the pitch. If every time someone got hit it was uploaded to Instagram this would turn into a circus. Football is for men, for men, I’m not going to be sending photos from each game", Suarez said in an interview with Spanish newspaper Sport.

This is not the first time that we are seeing Luis Suarez' name in a controversial headline. The Uruguayan has always been a controversial personality. One of his major controversies is the one with Patrice Evra where Suarez was criticized by the media and football fans around the world for racially abusing former Manchester United player.

The 29-year-old was also involved in three 'bite' controversies and was slapped with heavy bans for the same.

As the match ended in a draw, Barcelona were unable to capitalize on Real Madrid dropping points against Villarreal and the whole team were frustrated about it. Luis Suarez' verbal attack on Filipe Luis might also have been a result of this frustration.
