Manchester City are the seventh oldest team in Europe and most senior in the Premier League

The current Premier League champions Manchester City are reported to have the oldest squad of any major team around Europe when the teams are ranked by average age and also are the seventh oldest among more than 500 clubs around 31 top leagues.

It has been reported that Manuel Pellegrini’s team have an average age of 28.8 years while there are only six other teams across the continent which are older than the Etihad stadium based team, which are teams that are largely unknown or never heard off.

Manchester City have some relatively young regular footballers consisting of 23-year-old centre half Eliaquim Mangala and a few first-team players, who are in their 30s or will complete 30 on their next birthday. They include Frank Lampard (36),Martin Demichelis (33), Yaya Toure (31), Gael Clichy(29), David Silva (28), Pablo Zabaleta (29) and Aleksandar Kolarov (29).
