Ahead of the Manchester derby at the weekend, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero chose which striker in the Manchester United squad is the most deadly. Surprisingly, he went for fellow South American, Radamel Falcao, over Englishman Wayne Rooney and former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.

Despite Falcao scoring just 4 goals in 23 matches for the Red Devils, the Argentinian pointed out Falcao’s record at previous clubs to make his point.

Aguero said, “They (Manchester United) have a number of very talented strikers. The one who in his career has been the most predatory is Falcao.

“He isn't having an easy time this season, but I really admire his commitment and his class and qualities are permanent. He is probably one of the most naturally gifted strikers in football at the moment.”

Manchester United are a bit unpredictable: Aguero

Talking about the weekend opponents, Aguero said, “They are a team with a lot of great individual players, who can form an incredible unit when they work well together. But, this season that has not always been the case.

“Some matches they don't seem to play at the maximum, with the attacking qualities that they have in the team. But then in other games, they have really shown that those qualities, so they are a bit unpredictable. We know we will have to be at our very best to beat them – there's no doubt about that.”

Aguero has a knack of scoring goals in the derby, having scored 6 in his last 7 matches against United. He admitted that it feels special when the City supporters sing his name.

“I always love to score, but of course it is even more special to score in the big games,” he added.

“If you score against United at Old Trafford it almost give you shivers, because you can feel the tense atmosphere with most of the stadium being really quiet, but the away end going crazy.

“At home at it is different, when the City supporters are really loud in these games, it sometimes gives me goosebumps when they sing my name.”

Aguero needs to be watched carefully: Falcao

Radamel Falcao repaid the compliment paid to him by the 26-year-old Argentina striker. He said that despite City being a talented team, his team needs to watch out for Aguero if they want to get a positive result in the derby.

“They are a very talented team, with a danger all over the pitch, but Sergio Aguero has been a really dangerous player for Manchester United in the past matches,” Falcao said.

“He scored many goals and always needs to be watched carefully. If there is one player more than others to watch out for, I'd say it is Aguero.”

The Citizens got the better of their rivals earlier on the season with a slender 1-0 win courtesy a Sergio Aguero goal. City are currently in 4th position behind their weekend opponents, who are third. The Premier League clash between the two kicks off at 8.30 pm IST on Sunday, 12th April.
