Mats Hummels and Borussia Dortmund reportedly have no interest in discussions with Manchester United, with the Red Devils keen suitors of the colossal German centre-back.

Man United have been heavily linked with a swoop for £20m move for Hummels, particularly after his eye-catching performances for the German national team at this summers World Cup.

It has been reported that United’s new manager Louis van Gaal was keen on taking Hummels this summer in a £25 million deal, which would tempt the hand of Jurgen Klopp and co. to sell their prized asset.

However, according to journalist Raphael Honigstein, Hummels is not interested in a move to the Theatre of Dreams and to make matters worse, the German giants are not interested in doing business regarding the sale of their main man at the back.

Van Gaal is keen to strengthen his defnce following the departures of ever-present duo Rio Ferdinand Nemanja Vidic this summer. Ferdinand is tipped to join Queens Park Rangers, while Nemanja Vidic began training today with new club Inter Milan in the Serie A.

Van Gaal will now most likely look elsewhere as he bolsters his back-line ahead of the new season.

Mats Hummels completed more than five times as many take-ons as Tom Cleverley last season.
