Chelsea football club confirmed that a deal has been struck with Basel for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah. The winger has scored 17 goals in 27 appearances for his country.
Salah was supposed to undergo a medical with Liverpool this week but has now jumped ship and moving to Stamford Bridge. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will be disappointed that Chelsea have stolen Salah from Liverpool’s grasp as they did with Brazilian Willian.
The club stated:
“Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with FC Basel for the transfer of their 21-year-old attacking midfielder Mohamed Salah.
The move is subject to the Egyptian international agreeing personal terms and completing a medical examination.”
