Rabat, January 25 (IANS)

The Moroccan football team will play a friendly match with Uruguay on March 28, the country's football federation announced on Sunday.

The match will be played in Agadir, a resort on the Atlantic coast, reports Xinhua. Morocco cancelled a friendly match with Brazil which was scheduled to take place next March in Agadir.

The match was cancelled because the Moroccan Royal Football Federation president Fouzi Lakjaa refused to pay the $4 million needed to bring the Brazilian team.

The friendly match with Uruguay will be part of the Moroccan team's preparations for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Morocco, in their previous friendly games under coach Badou Zaki since may 2014, won five, drew one and lost two.
