Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has slammed Arsenal playmaker Jack Wilshere for being a bad example for children who look up to the English star.

Wilshere was earlier pictured smoking for the second time in nine months in a hotel in Las Vegas, and the Portuguese manager believes that for someone like Wilshere who is held as a role model for children all over the world, should be more careful about his social image.

"What football players do, millions and millions are watching, lots of kids are watching," the Chelsea boss told reporters. "I'm not a specialist, obviously, but I don't think if a football player smokes one cigar or cigarette with friends in the summer when he is not training – I don't think it affects his performance.”

"What gets affected is that a kid at home says if a top football player can smoke then I can smoke and it is not a problem."

Speaking to reporters post Arsenal’s 2-0 friendly win against Boreham, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was quoted on the club’s official website saying, "I haven't spoken to him (Wilshere) so it's very difficult for me to make any statement. I know what you can make of pictures - I have to speak to him really to see what happened before I come out publicly.”

"I'm not deeply concerned by it. I just want to know what happened and before I know what happened, I don't want to talk too much about it."

Now, smoking is a topic we would not really want to comment on, however, as a professional footballer, Wilshere has responsibilities that go beyond the pitch. Smoking in itself is a bad habit, and when you go out socially, you also damage your reputation as an example.

However, TV Presenter Piers Morgan, who is also an Arsenal fan poked fun at the situation
