Former Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal made an interesting statement, admitting that he would have liked to play for the Catalans' biggest rival, Real Madrid. Vidal spent two years with the Blaugrana (2018-2020) and claimed the La Liga title in 2019.

Meanwhile, fans took to social media and reacted to his comment that he would have liked to play for the Merengues.

According to Madrid Universal, Real Madrid turned down the possibility of signing Arturo Vidal back in 2015, with the Chilean midfielder ending up with Bayern Munich for three years (2015-2018). Vidal lost eight games to the Merengues in his career with Juventus, Bayern and Barcelona.

Aside from his desire to play for Real Madrid, Arturo Vidal once called out officiating in the games against the Merengues, saying that referees were favoring the Madrid club.

"Sometimes I’m not sure in which match a specific controversy occurred against Real Madrid…. Against Real Madrid I experienced so many robberies in my career, sometimes I forget the details. They robbed my teams so many times," Arturo Vidal said, via Barca Universal.

The 35-year-old midfielder was referring to the games between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the three years he stayed with the Bavarians, as well as the games against Los Blancos during his stint with Barcelona.

Recently, Vidal also picked his two former teams to win the UEFA Champions League this year. While Barcelona got eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the Bavarians advanced to the semi-finals. Bayern will now face Real Madrid in the semifinals.

The 35-year-old midfielder, who won the Copa America with Chile twice, reached the final of the UEFA Champions League with Juventus in 2015.
