Former Real Madrid winger Wesley Sneijder has slammed Antony after Manchester United's FA Cup win over Coventry City on Sunday, April 21.

The Red Devils had a brilliant start to their FA Cup semi-final against the eight-placed Championship side at Wembley. They took the lead in the 23rd minute through Scott McTominay before Harry Maguire made it 2-0 in the first-half stoppage time.

Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0 in the 58th minute and it appeared Manchester United were set for a comfortable win. However, Ellis Simms got one back for Coventry in the 71st minute before Callum O'Hare made it 3-2 eight minutes later.

Haji Wright then scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time via a penalty after Aaron Wan-Bisska handled the ball in the box. Both sides hit the woodwork once in extra time. The Red Devils eventually won 4-2 in the penalty shootout.

After Rasmus Hojlund converted the final penalty, Antony was seen cupping his ears towards the Coventry players to mock them. His gesture has garnered plenty of criticism from fans and pundits, including Wesley Sneijder, who said (via The European Lad):

"Antony should be absolutely embarrassed for what he did. He should have walked straigt off the pitch instead of doing that. I hope Manchester United lose 5-0 in the final."

Antony had come on in the 66th minute for Alejandro Garnacho. He had four shots, completed 25/28 passes, and won 2/7 duels. The Brazilian has just two goals and two assists in 34 games across competitions this season.

Manchester United's remaining fixtures before FA Cup final

The Red Devils will take on city rivals Manchester City at Wembley in the FA Cup final on May 25. It is a repeat of last season's final, where City comfortably won 2-1. Ahead of the clash though, both sides will complete their Premier League fixtures.

Manchester United played out a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth in their last league game. They will next host 20th-placed Sheffield United before hosting 19th-placed Burnley. They will then face Crystal Palace away and Arsenal at home before hosting Newcastle United. They will face Brighton & Hove Albion away in their final league fixture.

Manchester United are currently seventh in the standings, 10 points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. They could drop down to eighth, though, if Chelsea (9th) beat Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday, April 23.
