Barcelona star could potentially move to the Premier League, Tottenham to apply for Brazilian's work permit, and more: Premier League transfer news - 29th January 2018

Will Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde let his player move to the Premier League?

Man, today was some day! Times are a-ticking and the clubs are in a rush to get the deals done before the window slams shut. A lot of rumours have been clustered here in the most readable format for you. So here is hoping that you enjoy this—which you will, for sure—and so let’s begin!

#5 Swansea, West Ham and Everton-Newcastle-Burnley-Brighton

Aye
Ayew to return to Swansea?

That is quite a mouthful, isn’t it? Well, it just can't be helped that there have been so many rumours today! And I love it. Speaking of them, according to this report from The Sun, Swansea are willing to pay £18 million for their former player, Andre Ayew.

They earlier made a £15 million offer for the player, which was rejected by the Hammers. Meanwhile, in the same report, West Ham have informed Fulham that they are willing to pay £20 million for Tom Cairney. This comes after a £15 million bid from the Hammers was rejected by the Championship side.

This is what I call a circle of circles.

Finally, The Daily Mail claim that Everton and Newcastle have joined Burnley and Brighton in scouting Hull City striker Jarrod Bowen, who put in a match-winning performance against Nottingham Forest earlier over the weekend.

#4 Arsenal and Southampton

Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund - UEFA Champions League
Aubameyang could finally play for the Gunners

It might finally be happening. Arsenal need someone who could replace the scoring instincts of Alexis Sanchez and they had targeted someone better in terms of finding the net: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

After weeks of negotiations, it seems as though the Gunners are finally close to landing him as they have started to move towards Dortmund’s asking price of £60 million, claim The Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Southampton are after Kyle Walker-Peters. No, I'm not joking! Southampton REALLY want Tottenham full-back Walker-Peters on loan, claim The Sun, as Mauricio Pellegrino wants a player from Mauricio Pochettino’s current team for Mauricio Pochettino’s former team and Mauricio Pellegrino’s current team.

Confusing ain't it?

#3 Watford and West Brom

FC Barcelona v Olympiakos Piraeus - UEFA Champions League
Deulofeu could leave Barcelona

I am going to refrain from making overdrawn introductions because of the number of rumours that I have at hand today. The clubs are speeding things up to get deals done and Watford are no exception.

According to Sky Sports’ journalist Adam Leventhal, Barcelona star Gerard Deulofeu to Watford is “potentially happening” with some “work [left] to do.” Meanwhile, Sky Sports have reported that Deulofeu is wanted by Watford on a loan deal, which, according to me, could work well in favour of all involved parties.

He also claims that the next 24 hours are crucial in deciding the fate of Troy Deeney at the club.

Speaking of Troy Deeney, West Brom’s interest in the player may be concrete after all, as they have reportedly made a £16 million bid for the player, says John Percy of The Telegraph. However, Watford are allegedly yet to accept it and may want more dough for the player.

#2 Chelsea stuff

Giroud would look weird in a Chelsea shirt, won't he?
Don't you think Giroud would look weird in a Chelsea shirt?

Chelsea’s approach for Edin Dzeko has been very protracted. Over the weeks, we were fed with rumours of the former Manchester City man potentially joining the Stamford Bridge outfit, but according to The Independent, talks between the London outfit and Roma have broken down.

As a result, Antonio Conte is reportedly happy to let Michy Batshuayi stay at the club.

Meanwhile, the Blues will also reportedly be allowed to sign Olivier Giroud, should Arsenal complete the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund. The price quoted, however, is going to blow your brains out: Arsenal value the Frenchman at £35 million and will let him go for that price, claim The Daily Mail.

#1 Manchester madness featuring Tottenham

E
Eden Hazard could become Manchester City's first £100 million star

So it seems as though Manchester City will finally get their man as Aymeric Laporte is about to join the Citizens in the next few hours as the club too, have officially acknowledged that Laporte has indeed requested to leave, as per their club website.

Meanwhile, reports from Goal.com suggest that Eden Hazard is reportedly on Manchester City's radar, and that the Belgian could become their first £100 million player.

Finally, Tottenham could officially land Lucas Moura at last, if reports from Football.London are to be believed. The three parties—PSG, Spurs and the player himself—still have some issues to iron out, with a medical date not set yet. Spurs will also need to submit a work permit application in order to integrate the Brazilian into the team.
