Report: Roman Abramovich sanctions £200m for Chelsea to sign Lionel Messi - What a joke!

The January transfer window is officially open and the first ridiculous report has appeared already. According to "Sources", Roman Abramovich has sanctioned a £200m bid for Lionel Messi to try and lure him away from the Nou Camp!

Ridiculous isn't it! Why on earth do people come up with this crap? Don't get me wrong, as much as I would LOVE to see Lionel Messi in a Chelsea shirt, it's simply NEVER going to happen for a number of reasons.

Firstly, he has recently committed his future to the Catalan club stating that his future is in Barcelona having recently signed a new contract making him the highest paid player in Europe.

Secondly, how on earth are Chelsea going to EVER afford to pay £200m with the new Financial Fair Play restrictions? Does that mean that Chelsea would be willing to part with Eden Hazard, for example, if someone were to offer at least half of that figure?

Thirdly, what about his wages? They would be astronomical and would have a huge effect on our season financially. The club would battle to maintain their financial position.

They say that these transfer windows are "silly season" and I'm sorry but these reports are a joke!

Lionel Messi is not coming to Chelsea now or in the future!
