According to reports, Gonzalo Higuain is interested in a move to Liverpool and could swap the Stadio San Paolo for Anfield next season. The Argentine is eager to play under Jurgen Klopp and wants to quit Serie A for the Premier League, the Mirror declared. Higuain has been in incredible form this season for the Partenopei, scoring an astonishing 36 goals in just 35 games, setting a new record for goals scored in the Italian League. He has flourished under the coaching of Maurizio Sarri and looks to have turned his career around after criticism last season.
And Klopp could favor a move for the striker as the club has suffered various issues with their frontmen since Luis Suarez’s departure at the end of the 2013-14 season. Daniel Sturridge seems to constantly get injured at crucial junctures of the season and Christian Benteke has fallen out of favor, not being able to fit into the German’s system.
Klopp is expected to revamp the squad this summer and Higuain could be the marquee signing Kopites have been looking forward to as they look to contest for the title next season.
Having reached the Europa League final, the Reds were completely outplayed by Sevilla, culminating in a 3-1 loss to the Spanish side. This loss, coupled with their eighth place finish in the league sees them fail to qualify for Europe but this has reportedly not deterred Higuain.
The Napoli hitman is forcing an exit from his current side to manufacture a move to the Merseyside club despite interest from other clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United because of the presence of Jurgen Klopp in the dugout, say reports.

He has a contract with the Italian club till the summer of 2018, and could cost Liverpool somewhere in the region of €60 million. The 28-year-old started his career at Argentinian side River Plate before securing a transfer to European powerhouse Real Madrid for €12 million at the tender age of 19.
The Spanish club had set their sights on the Argentinian to develop and carry on once Raul leaves but that never transpired as Higuain had to deal with the Galactico signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema for a place in the starting line-up.
His six-year stay at the Santiago Bernabeu was mixed as he won six titles, but scored just 121 goals in 264 games.
His €40 million move to Napoli has seen him go from strength to strength, with the striker enjoying his most prolific spell ever, breaking a whole host of Serie A records with his goal-scoring exploits this season.
He could be a potential star for the Reds, should Klopp consider him worthy.
