Reports: Manchester United deal for Arturo Vidal hinges on Juventus signing Ramires

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal

Manchester United’s move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal reportedly hinges on the ability of the Turin club to bring in Chelsea midfielder Ramires as a replacement.

New United boss Louis van Gaal has been heavily linked with bringing Vidal to Manchester United for most of the summer, leading Juventus to line up Ramires as a replacement.

The Brazil midfielder played 30 times for Chelsea last season, but has seen his place in the side threatened by the arrival of fellow central midfielder Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.

However The Express believe that Jose Mourinho still has the 27-year-old in his plans, leading them to doubt Vidal’s move to United.

Chile midfielder Vidal made 32 league appearances for Juventus last season, scoring 11 times and providing five assists, prompting the links with United and talk of a £40 million move that could also include Nani and Patrice Evra.

But this now looks unlikely, with Mourinho said to be keen on keeping Ramires and Juventus subsequently looking less likely to sell Vidal in the absence of a replacement.
