Barcelona are said to be willing to offer either Ousmane Dembele or Andreas Christensen in their bid to convince Bayern Munich to part ways with Joshua Kimmich.

Since joining Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2015 for €8.5 million, Kimmich has established himself as a regular starter for the team. He has helped them win 19 trophies so far, including seven Bundesliga titles.

Barcelona will be active in the transfer market as they look to sign a holding midfielder to replace the departing Sergio Busquets. They have expressed interest in signing Kimmich this summer as manager Xavi Hernandez sees the right-footed midfielder as the ideal player in the midfield. Bayern, however, are said to be reluctant to part with the player.

With Bayern reluctant to part with Kimmich, Spanish outlet Fichajes.net has reported that the Bavarians might be willing to sell the German in a part-exchange deal. Christensen and Dembele have been named as the two players who could interest the Bundesliga giants.

The rumours of Kimmich's move to Spain intensified after his comments praising his 'role model' Xavi came to light. Speaking to SportBild in 2021, he praised the Spaniard and said:

"My role model was always Xavi Hernandez from Barcelona. He was never the greatest, but had an eye for the game, passing, technique. He was always trying to put others in the limelight. That impressed me, that's what I want to orient myself towards. I met Xavi once at the training camp in Doha in 2019, that was a really cool moment!"

Barcelona target Joshua Kimmich keen on experiencing football culture outside Germany: Reports

If Bayern Munich decide to sell him, Joshua Kimmich is willing to join Barcelona this summer as he is said to be looking for a fresh challenge. He is also keen on playing football outside Germany.

A recent Mundo Deportivo report has stated that Kimmich is keen to take up a new challenge and he sees the Catalan giants as the right club to join. Having worked with Bayern last summer for Robert Lewandowski's signing, La Liga giants Barcelona remain confident of finding a solution for Kimmich.

Kimmich is also keen on playing in a league outside Germany. Talking about the possibility of playing abroad, he told So Foot:

"That would be an interesting challenge. I don't know what will happen in a few years, we'll see. I have a very good coach who is an advocate of attractive football. I have a lot of fun here, but somewhere in my head there is always this professional and personal challenge of one day reaching new horizons to discover."
