Reports suggest, the English outfit are gunning to bring the Real Madrid duo - Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas to the Etihad this January transfer window as they look to strengthen their defense.

Spainish goal-keeping legend Iker Casillas has been frozen out of the first team setup failing to start a single match in the La Liga this season. The shot stopper has been a constant at the Bernebeu for a long time, however, has now surrendered his place to new recruit Diego Lopez. As the World Cup approaches, the 32-year old will be desperate to get on the pitch and play more first team football.

Sergio Ramos, on the other hand, has been questioned about his discipline on more occasions than one, and manager Carlo Ancelotti has made his displeasure known. The 27-year old has established himself in the center of defense for the Los Blancos but could be considering his options in January.

Manchester City’s defensive record has been a cause for concern, conceding 21 goals this campaign. Out of form Joe Hart and constant injury problems to captain Vincent Kompany, have left the boss Manuel Pellegrini no option but to go out in the winter and splash the cash on some defensive reinforcements.

The former Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini will be favorite to land the talented pair, if they decide to call curtains on their career in the Spanish capital.
