Manchester City’s star striker Sergio Aguero has urged his international teammate and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to join him in England. Aguero revealed details of his talk with the 5-time FIFA Ballon d’Or winner where he tried to convince Messi to join him at City.

Aguero made the switch from La Liga to Premier League as a 23-year-old, back in 2011 and has taken the league by storm since swapping the red and white of Atletico Madrid for the sky blue of Manchester City. Having spent nearly 5 years in England, he admitted that the weather in England can be harsh. However, he said that the fixture congestion in England ensures that the effects of the weather are not felt much and it should not be a deal-breaker.

“We play every three days and just eat and rest between games, so the weather is not really that important,” the 27-year-old said. “So I told him Manchester is ideal as a city because you stay home, you play every three days, we can eat and play football together."

Aguero revealed that Messi knows about the lack of a beach in Manchester and the City striker has already told his Argentinian counterpart what they do in their spare time.

“He already knows there's no beach! I said to him, at the end of the day we spend most of our time at home,” explained Aguero.

In football, anything can happen: Messi

At the recently concluded FIFA Ballon d’Or gala, Messi had clarified his future by saying he would like to remain at Barcelona till the end of the season.

“In football, anything can happen, but my idea and my desire is to stay at Barcelona,” the dimunitive magician had said in an interview recently.

But, that has not prevented the rumour-mongers from speculating where the 28-year-old could move next with some predicting that he will return to Argentina while others see him plying his trade either in Ligue 1 with PSG or in England.

In December, last year, Aguero praised Messi by labelling him the “best in the world” and said that the best players can play anywhere, be it Spain, England or even China.

“If he wants to come here, let him come. He's the best in the world, he can handle the Chinese league too because he's the best in the world. There's always pressure in any country, but if you're the best player in the world you can be the best anywhere,” Aguero had said last year.
