Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is not the manager to abstains himself from expressing his views, even if it means that he has to take a dig at one of his former players. Sergio Ramos had earlier commented on the absence of some of his teammates who were withdrawn from the national squad for their Euro qualifier match against Belarus and a friendly against World Champions Germany.

"It is difficult because this is not a club team, but the national team where you do not come here every day," Ramos said. "Laying out rules is difficult. Often with injuries there can be a world of difference between what we have and what is said in public.”

It was speculated that it was Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas the Real Madrid defender was referring to. However, he has since then insisted that he was not necessarily directing towards them.

Mourinho was not shy to express his own views on his former player’s comments who he had worked with for three seasons at Real Madrid.

"Since I've known Sergio Ramos he has been a fantastic football player, but he is not a doctor,” Mourinho was quoted by Mirror. “He is not a doctor and I am the same. I do my job the best I can but I am not a doctor."

"My doctor and the doctor of the Spanish national team, they had the scans and they decided that the player was not in the condition to play. I am nobody to go against it and I don't think Sergio did a medicine Masters in the last couple of years to understand about it.”

"[Vincent] Kompany didn't play for Belgium against Wales and he played today [Saturday]. Has he a compromise with his national team? I think he has. He is the captain of Belgium. Did he, how do you say, 'cheat' by not playing against Wales to play today? I don't think he did. So we all accept that he was injured," he adds.

He then went on to comment on Spanish head coach Vincente Del Bosque’s accusation who had suggested that Fabregas’s injury was not genuine.

"I trust my doctor 100 per cent. If Del Bosque doesn't trust his doctor that is his problem, not my problem. I speak with my doctor and I believe in what my doctor tells me. Nothing else. No problem," he said. "Fabregas was in a doubtful situation, Diego no. Diego recovered totally from his problem with these two weeks that he had to rest and to improve his injury.

"Fabregas is different. Fabregas survived. Diego no, Diego now is in great condition," he concluded.

Both Fabregas and Costa started for Chelsea during their comfortable 2-0 victory over West Brom earlier this Sunday with Costa scoring the first while Fabregas assisting the second for Hazard.
