Suso’s Frustration, Andrey Arshavin and Goodbye Aquilani?

Lots of stuff I want to cover today, and the three main topics that I will discuss are Suso, Andrey Arshavin and Aquilani’s apparently impending departure to Fiorentina on a permanent deal.

First of, I’ll start off with Andrey Arshavin, because he’s the one who’s most unrelated to Liverpool FC out of the three. Arshavin is a very good player, there’s no doubt about that. Liverpool fans realized that after that fateful night where he went on to put 4 goals past Pepe Reina to put a dent in Liverpool’s season. But when I heard that he was available at a price of 1 million pounds, I thought the journalist had lost the plot. However, it is apparently true.

Arshavin has been apparently told that he’s surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium, and can leave for as cheap as a million pounds. With a problem out wide on the wings, I think that Liverpool should consider taking in the Russian playmaker, given that he can play an intricate passing game which the Tiki-taka demands of, whilst he is constantly moving. Whilst I understand that he is a) 31 years old and b) very inconsistent, I think we should at least give him a go. He has some magic left in him and I reckon that giving him a 1 year contract might just be a good deal for Liverpool FC.

OK, enough of that, and on to Suso. Apparently, an angry Suso took to Twitter to vent his frustration at not being able to train with the Liverpool first team following his return to Liverpool.

That one is fairly self explanatory, so I guess I’ll talk about Alberto Aquilani now.

According to The People, Liverpool have struck an agreement with Italian side Fiorentina for the Italian central midfielder, with the deal reportedly being in the region of 7 million pounds. This represents a loss from the initial 15 million pounds that Liverpool forked out for the midfielder from AS Roma.

Aquilani’s time at Liverpool FC was marred with injury woes and a constant struggle to find form and to fit in the Liverpool FC set-up. Brendan Rodgers has cut his losses and is perhaps now looking to use that money to buy Swansea City target Joe Allen, who is at present time representing Team GB at the Olympics.

Aquilani has had two loan spells in his time at Liverpool, both resulting in impressive showings for AC Milan and Juventus respectively. If he does indeed make the switch, I wish him all the best for his future back in Italy.
