Thiago Silva unhappy with Dunga and Neymar over change in captaincy

Brazilian defender Thiago Silva has expressed his disappointment over the fact that the captaincy was handed over to Neymar while he was injured.

The 30-year-old has criticised his coach Dunga for taking away the captaincy from him without letting him know about it. In a recent interview, Silva has mentioned how he has been bothered by the decision, especially with Neymar who hasn’t spoke to him after taking over the captain’s armband.

“I don’t think I’m the one that should go to them. He (Neymar) hasn’t come to me, no one has come to speak with me about it and that’s what really bothers me,” the PSG defender siad.

“My feeling is that they have taken something that belongs to me and I’d be lying if I said I was happy.”

Silva is also unhappy about losing his starting spot to Atletico Madrid centre-back Joao Miranda, who was not included in the team during Felipe Scolari’s reign and since his return, he and David Luis have yet to allow a goal.

“You should ask the manager if I’ve lost my starting spot. As of today, I don’t know when I’ll return to the starting line-up. I could return or not. It depends on some people’s point of view.

“It’s my fault (I lost my place). I returned to early from my injury to play for PSG. Three days after returning I played. I shouldn’t have taken such a risk and now I’m paying for coming back too soon,” he added.
