Violence in the 1st leg in December has led to tighter security in the Kolkata derby this time around.

The Kolkata derby on February 9 is going to be somewhat different from any other Kolkata derby which has happened before. Mohun Bagan, who are in charge of hosting the match, have requested the state government to make the security tight as far as possible, as they do not want any repetition of any such incident, which occurred on December 9, 2012.

Mohun Bagan is going to take on their arch rivals East Bengal in the return leg this Saturday. As per the latest news, there is going to be some changes in the rules and regulations for the fans. Along with those rules and regulations, supporters will have to enter the stands through a three-tier security arrangement. For the first time in Yuba-Bharati Stadium, food stalls will be set up. 4. Like ‘Steward’, policemen will always keep a close look in the gallery.
  5. No food item or water bottle will be allowed to be taken inside the stadium. Three food stalls will be present from where you have to purchase food. Water pouches will be supplied by the host team Mohun Bagan.
