United SC and East Bengal share spoils in a 1-1 draw in the U-19 I-league

United SC Under-19 boys held East Bengal Club to a 1-1 draw in their final East Zone round robin match of the Under-19 I-League at the East Bengal ground on Thursday afternoon.

Fresh from their 6-1 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club on Saturday, Abdul Sajjat put United SC in the lead midway through the first half, but Inzamul Hawk negated the advantage with a 62nd minute equaliser.

After booked their place in the Under-19 I-league championship round, United SC sprung into action rightway today when the last match hero Sandip Bhattacharya looked to threaten the opposition with a fine long ranger which beat East Bengal custodian before hitting the post on its way. The purple brigade clearly looked more penetrating in the first half. United SC was also wasteful after the changeover with captain Babun Das missed an easy chance to double the lead.

With one point from today's match, unbeaten United SC stay in the first place with 12 points from six games while East Bengal were in third place after the match.
