The Armenian fans tried to get under Cristiano Ronaldo's skin when he arrived for the Euro 2016 qualifiers by heckling him with 'Messi' chants. The plot worked against the fans as Ronaldo went on to score a hat-trick by guiding Portugal to a 3-2 win over Armenia.

Interestingly, the Real Madrid man celebrated his goals by cupping his hand to the ear which could be an indication that he was trying to listen to the Armenian fans who were trying to taunt him when he arrived for the match.

In the footage, the fans heckle Ronaldo when he gets down from the Bus and shouts the name of Barcelona star Messi. Anyway, Ronaldo silenced all his critics by scoring a stunning hat-trick and displaying some brilliant skills.

Going into the game, the Real Madrid star alone had 52 goals for his country as compared to the 44 goals scored by the whole Armenian starting XI for theirs. The hat trick also meant that Ronaldo has now scored 3 hat-tricks in his last 3 games.

It also put the Portuguese goal machine ahead of Brazil’s Pele and Ronaldo Nazario in the number of goals scored for their respective countries (excluding friendlies).
