Video: Ronaldo scores long range stunner in his hat-trick against Armenia

Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a big figure, whether it’s for club or country. When he’s in full flow, the Portuguese frontman becomes incredibly difficult to stop. He brought his indomitable spirit and talent to the pitch against Armenia as Portugal faced them in a Euro 2016 qualifier.

Going into the game, the Real Madrid star alone had 52 goals for his country as compared to the 44 goals scored by the whole Armenian starting XI for theirs. That was quick to change, however, as Armenia scored in the 14th minute to hand Portugal a difficult task of coming from behind.

Ronaldo was not to be deterred though as his team rallied and he scored one, and followed it up with another and then came up with a stunner to come up with his hattrick.

Armenia would score late on but the goal wouldn’t count for much as Portugal ended the game 3-2 winners thanks to a Ronaldo show on the night.

The hattrick also meant that Ronaldo has now scored 3 hat-tricks in his last 3 games. It also put the Portuguese goal machine ahead of Brazil’s Pele and Ronaldo Nazario in the number of goals scored for their respective countries (excluding friendlies).
