Video: Feyenoord score goal straight from a throw-in against Standard Liege

Feyenoord scored a freak goal last night against Standard Liege in the Europa League.

Having got a throw-in on the left side, Miquel Nelom’s threw the ball high and deep into the box. The ball looked like it missed everyone, bounced once up and over the goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima and into the goal.

According to the rules, one cannot score a goal directly from a throw-in.

But the referee deemed Sven Van Beek to have got a slight touch which flicked the ball in and awarded the goal.
