Barcelona beat Espanyol 4-2 on penalties after their Catalan Super Cup match ended 1-1.
The first goal of the match was Luis Suarez’s assist to Gerard Pique to score Barcelona’s opener.
With the ball at his feet inside the box and a defender marking him, the Uruguayan forward scooped the ball up and over the goalkeeper to an unmarked Pique who only had to head home from point blank range without even having to jump.
Espanyol then equalised when Anaitz Arbilla scored with a superb free kick into the top left corner.
The match went into a penalty shootout after 90 minutes itself and Ivan Rakitic scored the winning penalty to give Barcelona the win.
