Who Said What: Real Madrid beat Manchester City to qualify for the UCL final

Real Madrid qualify for the Champions League final again!

Real Madrid put in a spectacular performance as they fended off Manchester City's charge to seal a berth in the finals of the UEFA Champions League. The Spanish giants beat the English side 1-0 over both legs thanks to a Gareth Bale goal and will now face Atletico Madrid on the finals at the San Siro in Italy.

Here's what the who's who of the sporting world said about the victory:

Real Madrid's manager, Zinedine Zidane, was thrilled with the victory when he spoke to the press after the game.

"I'm happy, not just for myself; it was a team effort," he said.

"I'm happy for the players because what they did tonight was fantastic. We suffered because that always happens in semi-finals, but we've got through to the final and that is what is important for us”.

"I'm happy to be leading this great team. I'm happy to be able to enjoy this opportunity that the club has given me, to train these players. We must all keep working together and think about the great things we can achieve if we work together as a united team. We saw that tonight and now we can enjoy the final."

Goal-scorer Gareth Bale was thrilled, too but made sure he thanked the fans as well.

"The fans were great, just as I'm sure they will be in Milan," he said.

"They really got behind us, and we're very happy to have reached the final after two very tough games against Manchester City, in which we had to be at our best.

"The semi-finals are always like this, they're tight games in which no team ever wins by a big margin. We put in a good performance, we were very good at the back and tonight we're going to enjoy the result. The final against Atlético de Madrid will be a very tough one. We know how they play and I hope that we can win it."

Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was also ecstatic about the victory and also cleared any doubts about his injury.

"I think we played a great game. We controlled the ball, we created opportunities, and in the 1-0 was enough," he said.

"The press really doubted that I would stay healthy and really believed I would relapse. However this didn't happen because I worked hard and recovered properly."

"Physically, I felt really good, but what is important is that we are in the final. When we played in Manchester we deserved to score a goal, so I think we deserve to be in the final."
