Yaya Toure's agent could take legal action against Pep Guardiola

Toure
Is the end near for Toure?

Things are past getting out of hand between Pep Guardiola and Yaya Toure’s agent. The two have exchanged heated words so many times it’s hard to keep count. Now it seems like the battle will shift to the courts of England.

The agent feels Guardiola has crossed some sort of legal line with his treatment of Yaya Toure and feels there is a case that can be argued. Dimitri Seluk feels he can prosecute the Manchester City boss on the grounds of not playing the Ivorian despite the player not saying anything against the coach.

Seluk spoke to The Mirror regarding the current situation and said, “What Guardiola is doing is illegal. He thinks he can act like this because Yaya is in the last year of his contract and FIFA’s regulations say we can only appeal about this decision at the end of the season.”

"But the fact is that Yaya is being punished for things he hasn’t said. As his agent and friend, it is my job to speak if I feel Yaya is not being treated fairly. But Yaya himself has acted professionally and has not said anything about Guardiola and his situation in Manchester. I believe this breaks employment law, so we will see.”

According to FIFA rules about player contracts, any player can consider a contract dissolved if he does not play at least 10% of the club’s matches, given he is not injured or suspended.

The way this situation is panning out it won’t be long before Toure leaves for free. It would be a sad ending to what has been a marvellous career in the Premier League.

Yaya’s agent says Pep has a ‘s*** personality’

Just when you think both sides have called for a ceasefire, Yaya’s agent reloads and shoots another arrow towards the Spanish coach. His latest comments are probably more scathing that his previous.

Speaking to The Sun he said, “They must say to Guardiola, 'Yaya is our family' - how is it possible to speak like this? It is not correct to do that. It is not correct to give up on a top-class player. But this is his decision - he is a good coach but his personality is s***.”

"If Yaya is on the field or not, everyone will ask, 'What is this decision from Guardiola?' Normally a person cannot make a decision like this. And it is England, not North Korea or Afghanistan - so people will discuss whether it is right and they will have their opinions.”

"It is necessary to remember that Yaya, when he was in Barcelona, played as a defender and they won against Man United [in the 2009 Champions League final].It is very strange. All supporters like Guardiola but my opinion is that supporters also see that Yaya gave City a lot. They won the title two times with him and won cups.”

"We'll see what Pep does. Many people don't understand how it is possible to do what he has done with players”
