According to recent Fortnite leaks, LEGO mode is going to get a massive update in the near future. Spotted by veteran leaker/data-miner iFireMonkey, it would seem that developers are working on tamable creatures for the mode. Unlike rumors and/or speculations, the information was obtained by data-mining the game's files.

Given that other open-world games such as Valheim and Palworld give players the option to tame creatures, having this feature in LEGO Fortnite makes sense.

In fact, many players wondered as to why this option was not there in-game from the get-go. Since creatures often drop and/or provide resources that are vital to crafting and/or useful in certain recipes, many expected this to be present in-game at launch.

Furthermore, given that it already exists in Battle Royale mode, it was rather perplexing to not see it in LEGO mode. That being said, here is more on the topic at hand.

Fortnite leaks shed light on tamable animals and Animal Cookies

According to Fortnite leaks shared by iFireMonkey, players will be able to tame animals in LEGO Fortnite using something called Animal Cookies. By the looks of it, it could be a single consumable item that can be fed to certain domesticable animals (cows, chickens, sheep) to tame them.

It could also work on more aggressive animals (wolves, rollers), but it all depends on what the developers have planned. This is what iFireMonkey had to say about the upcoming mechanic:

"When an animal is tamed you can ask the animal to stay in a specific spot, for it to follow you, and you'll be able to feed the animal. You will still be able to pet tamed animals and it appears as of now the only animal that is set to support taming is Boars."

Coming back to Animal Cookies, as mentioned, this could be a single consumable item or a sub-set of items. As such, players would need different Animal Cookies to tame different animals. This would be the most realistic design choice.

Being able to tame animals would be a game-changer as currently, players have to use clever tricks to trap animals in their village. At times, things do not pan out as planned, and trying to fence them off becomes a frustrating, not to mention time-consuming and tedious task.

On the bright side of things, once this feature is added, depending on your LEGO Fortnite seed, you could have a massive farm set up in no time.

When could tamable animals and Animal Cookies be introduced to LEGO Fortnite?

Although the recent Fortnite leaks provide insight into this upcoming feature, there is no timeline in place. As stated by iFireMonkey, the update is for the future, and as such, could be months from now. Nevertheless, with LEGO Fortnite releasing new mechanics slowly over time, this too, shall be added to the mode, eventually.

While this is based on sheer speculation, players may be able to ride tamable animals as well. As the mechanic exists in Battle Royale mode, it could be ported to LEGO Fortnite. That said, more Fortnite leaks about tamable animals and Animal Cookies should appear over time.
