Aditi Ashok overcame a bizarre day, which saw her score as many as four double-bogeys, to stave off a steady Amandeep Drall and win the ladies event at the Usha Eastern India Ladies and Girls' Amateur Golf Championship at the par-70 Tollygunge Golf Club here Thursday.

Aditi began with promise, birdying the opening hole, but then the wheels came off as she dropped six strokes over the third, fourth and fifth holes. She also bogeyed the ninth to end with an outward nine of six-over 40.

Her return leg was a little better but she still double-bogeyed the 16th and bogeyed the last hole to end her day with a card of nine-over 79 and a three-round aggregate of 12-over 222.

But her first-round 68 made the difference as she managed to stay ahead of Amandeep, who hit her third straight round of 75 to aggregate 225. Ridhima Dilawari (228) was third.

Aditi also snared Category A, followed by Ridhima and Vidushi Sinha (231). The trio also topped Categories A and B combined.

The individual Category B honours went to Diksha Dagar (233), Riya Ahuja (242) and Sifat Sagoo (243).

In Category C, Vasundhara Thiara (234), Anika Varma (238) and Tanishka Kumar (243) finished ahead of the field.
