Fitness has a new name: Snap Fitness. The exercise club has transformed fitness methods with the latest equipment, personal attention and advanced knowledge. The people’s attitude has changed from exercising to doing the right exercise in order of achieve optimum benefits for the body.

Co-founder at Snap Fitness India and marketing director Srileka Reddy believes that with time people have started to look differently at fitness and exercise. “Earlier the focus was on running. But the effects weren’t totally desirable. So the focus changed to strength training as well,” Reddy said.

The change in the attitude regarding exercising coincided with the change in attitude regarding diet and nutrition.

“Before people used to say, have more carbohydrates. But now, protein is the number one requirement. The knowledge we have today is far superior to before, which helps the body to maintain fitness,” she said.

Snap Fitness has a special programme designed for athletes, amateur and professional. The ‘Fit to sport’ package involves sport specific strengthening, endurance training and nutrition to help players mentally and physically in the perfect shape. Special ‘boot camps’ are held which implement the military training methods to enhance the performance of strength and endurance. Several clubs of various sports come to the club with the entire team to train together.

Their involvement in sport goes beyond the walls of the gym floor. Snap Fitness organises several sporting events for members and non-members. Events such as Snap Run (5k and 10k race), Snap Cricket and Snap Football tournaments are held throughout the year.

One of the main goals of Snap Fitness is that everyone should get fit. This philosophy has resulted in the company opening over 2500 clubs worldwide. Their plan is to open over 300 clubs in India to promote fitness and a ‘Be Well’ lifestyle. Their plan to have 24*7 clubs in the nearby neighbourhoods aims at removing obstacles that prevent people from exercising.

“We want to make fitness affordable and accessible to everyone. We want to make it convenient to people so there is no excuse to not exercise, “ she said.
