Dana White gives a huge update on Punk's impending debut, Rousey at WrestleMania 32?

Will 2016 be the Summer of Punk?

- Where on one side staunch, CM Punk fans are waiting for him to enter the Octagon and silence his critics, on the flipside his detractors want him to get pummeled in his first MMA outing.

One thing, though, can not be denied, and that is the hype and heightened anticipation surrounding his mixed martial arts debut in the UFC. Dana White, in a recent Q&A session, answered a fan’s question regarding as to when CM Punk would make his debut.

The UFC President tentatively stated that Punk would step in into the Octagon most probably before Summer of 2016. He went on to add that it’s in Brooks’ best interest that he is patient and well-prepared for his hyped UFC debut.

This is what the UFC President had to say:

"He'll fight - I'm going to say before summer, probably before summer. ... Listen, he doesn't have any fights yet, man. Let him take his time and work his way in."

If you connect the dots, Punk will most likely be debuting at UFC’s biggest event till date; UFC 200 – which is scheduled to take place on July 16, 2016, in Las Vegas.

All things point to the landmark event being Punk’s launchpad for his MMA career, that is if the issues with his shoulder are sorted out coupled with an agreement from Punk’s trainers.

Dana, it seems, has a thing for former pro-wrestlers headlining landmark events, the last being Lesnar at UFC 100. From a business standpoint, though, it makes complete sense, which was evident from how UFC 100 fared.

- Call it shocking or historic, Holly Holm knocking the lights out of Ronda Rousey, quite rightly said by Joe Rogan, was the greatest upset in MMA history.

Soon after, the internet went berserk over Rousey’s future, her rematch and not surprisingly, a potential WrestleMania 32 appearance.

According to journalist Alfred Konuwa, Rousey being featured in some capacity at WM 32 is most likely not going to happen after her shocking one-sided loss. This is what he had to say:

Rousey now means less. She cannot be promoted as the dominant, unbeaten bantamweight champion she was at WrestleMania 31. In the improbable event that Rousey wrestled, there would be no intrigue in possibly seeing her lose for the first time.

Considering WWE’s ever changing plans and their way of getting things done; never say never.
