"I didn't expect that to happen" - Michael Bisping names the fight from UFC 280 that surprised him the most

The unfolding of the bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 280 came as a surprise to Michael Bisping.

In a recent Q&A session on his YouTube channel, Bisping spoke about UFC 280, which went down from Abu Dhabi this past weekend. While discussing the bantamweight co-main event, 'The Count' said that he was astounded by Sterling's domination of Dillashaw.

"My biggest surprise... it wasn't that Oliveira got beat. It wasn't that Oliveira tapped. It wasn't that Sean O'Malley won, because I picked O'Malley to do that. My biggest surprise was the way Aljamain Sterling dominated T.J. Dillashaw... As we know, granted, messed up shoulder, all the rest of it, that's a big part of it, but I didn't expect that to happen."

In his second title defense, 'Funk Master' took on Dillashaw in a five-round title fight. The 36-year-old suffered a shoulder injury in the very first round that severely affected his capability to compete. As it turns out, the issue was pre-known and had hampered the challenger's training camp.

Sterling used his grappling skills to take the fight to the ground and finished Dillashaw with vicious ground-and-pound in the second round.

Henry Cejudo calls out Aljamain Sterling after UFC 280

After successfully defending his title at UFC 280, Aljamain Sterling was called out by former multi-division champion Henry Cejudo for a fight.

In a video uploaded to his Twitter account, Cejudo reminded people of his own 32-second victory over Dillashaw in January 2019. With that, he challenged Sterling to a showdown.

"Well, congratulations, Alja-sh*tstain, you continue to keep beating my leftovers. Congratulations. I took that dude out in 32 seconds. Anyhow, the baby, my puppy, is right here, dude. Let's not forget, man. All you guys are babysitting my belt. All you sorry-a** 135-pounders, there's one king, and his name is 'Triple C'. You're gonna get it. Sign the contract, h*e."

Cejudo has been out of action since May 2020, when he took on Dominick Cruz in defense of his bantamweight title. Cejudo made quick work of 'The Dominator', finishing him in the second round. 'Triple C' announced his retirement from the sport following the result.

However, the retirement may be short-lived as Cejudo has been itching to get back into the octagon. The 2008 Olympic gold medalist has called out multiple fighters in recent months since re-entering the USADA testing pool. He now has his sights set on Sterling.
