Aaron Rodgers wants players' mental health to be taken care of after Damar Hamlin's cardiac arrest

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has expressed his thoughts on the Damar Hamlin incident from Monday night. The Packers star wasn't watching the game, but tuned in at what he thought was halftime before he knew something was wrong.

What are the current Super Bowl odds?

Rodgers was speaking on The Pat McAfee Show in his weekly spot and stated that there needs to be a mental health conversation with the players from the game.

Rodgers said:

"Mental health is so important in our culture now and I think there's a lot better language around it. A lot of stigmas have been kind of erased. Lot of the myths around it have been debunked. But I think there needs to be a conversation around it."

The veteran is right, this isn't a time to just forget about what happened, and it's important for the mental health of the players who witnessed the incident. It is not something that will likely ever go away.

Mental health has become a big talking point over the last few years. With the COVID-19 pandemic taking a serious toll, now with Hamlin's situation, there should be resources available to all players and staff in the NFL.

Rodgers mentioned that the Packers have their own doctor who helps Green Bay players with the mental side of not only football but life.

The quarterback said:

"An important part of your overall health is taking care of your mental health and we are fortunate enough to have a full-time mental health support on our staff with Dr. Carr, and he's a phenomenal resource. He's been great for so many of us in talking through a lot of different things, lot of sports performance-related, but even in situations in life this, I think he can be a great resource."

While there are no updates on Hamlin's situation, everyone at Sportskeeda sends their love and prayers to him, his family, and his friends during this difficult time.
