2014 has been an exciting year for tennis. We have seen a lot of nail-biting and exciting matches throughout the year. The 'Big 4' of tennis continued to impress but a lot of new players also made their mark on the ATP Tour. #10 Julien Benneteau against Milos Raonic

Julien Benneteau hit an incredible half volley down the line against Milos Raonic who had struck a strong forehand shot against the Frenchman. Leading 3-2 in the second set after losing the first, it was an important point for Benneteau as he had a chance to break Raonic.

#9 Novak Djokovic against Milos Raonic

Milos Raonic looked completely in control of the point right from the beginning, but an incredible reflex shot by Djokovic on Raonic’s smash won him the point. It was an important point for Novak as the pressure was on him to hold his serve after being taken to deuce.

#8 Roger Federer against Feliciano Lopez

Roger Federer, twice pulled of two extraordinary shots against Feliciano Lopezs smashes and finally put away a forehand to win the point. It was surely some breathtaking stuff by the Swiss Maestro. Federer was trailing 30-40 on Lopezs serve, and by winning the point, it brought him closer to breaking Lopez for the second time in the set.

#7 Gael Monfils against Sousa

There cannot be a “top hot shots” list without having Gael Monfils on it. After some incredible play at the net by both players, Monfils played an incredible drop shot to win the point. Monfils was serving for the match, and winning that point gave him match point.

#6 Nick Kyrgios against Rafael Nadal

In the match which made him famous, Nick Kyrgios hit an incredible winner between his legs against the current World no. 3 Rafael Nadal. Winning the point did not make too much of a difference as Nadal was already leading 40-0 in the seventh game of the second set.

#5 Andy Murray against Rafael Nadal

Andy Murray looked like he was going to lose the point, but he somehow managed to reach the ball and guide it over Nadal and into the court. Watch this magnificent shot. It was a really important point for Murray, as he had a chance to break back after Nadal broke his serve in the first game of the deciding set.

#4 Rafael Nadal against Novak Djokovic

Rafael Nadal pulled off a spectacular shot against World no. 1 Novak Djokovic. Djokovic smashed the ball, but Nadal somehow picked it up and hit it right back into the court. Nadal was traling 2-4 in the first set, and this point was a good start for the Spaniard to come back into the set.

#3 Rafael Nadal against Mikhail Youzhny

Rafael Nadal was at it again, and this time it was against Mikhail Youzhny. It was a similiar return, like the one against Djokovic, but this time, he hit the winner with a backhand return to Youzhny’s smash. Winning the point gave Nadal set point.

Grigor Dimitrov pulled off a spectacular shot after Jack Sock pummelled the ball back to his court on his second serve. And he did it twice. Some breathtaking stuff! Winning these two points gave Dimitrov a 3-2 lead in the second set.

Roger Federer hit this incredible tweener in a point which was Becker’s to lose. Federer recovered tremendously to make the German commit the error. At 3-2 down in the second set, Federer hit an impossible shot to just show why he is a 17-time Grand Slam winner.
